I purchased this printer to replace another HP that I owned. I have no idea how it prints because we could never get it installed. I was on the phone with HP support for over an hour and they tried but couldn’t help. I will say the tech support was great, they just couldn’t fix the problem. It is going back to the store tommorrow AM for a refund, I would like to throw it out the window but it would mess up the lawn. I cannot believe HP has put out such a product with such poor software. I would never recommend this printer to anyone. Buyer Beware!!

This is a great all-in-one printer from the folks at HP, I found this printer easy to set up, this coming ftom a person who is no computer expert! I like that it has a touch screen and it has wireless capability(even though I have’nt used the wireless yet). One small qibble I have is that it takes four seperate ink cartridges, so replacing inks can be a little costly. But the print quality is excellent. I actually have another older HP Photosmart Express printerthat only takes two cartridges that I’ll use for my cheaper basic prints. I’ll use this Photosmart Plus All-In-One for higher quality ones, such as photos. I love HP products and this is my third HP printer I’ve owned and I love it!

First, if a Mac user, do not buy this printer until you have installed MacOSX 10.6.1–else the scanner will not work, trust me. Do not buy this printer unless you are a network administrator and intend to make use of the wireless feature—please take me literally. Plugging the printer into the Airport Express USB port works fine, but do not attempt to add the printer to an existing network unless you are an expert and have three or four free days. There is no documentation from HP on this printer except the downloaded PDF manual, and that does not explain how to make wireless connections—how can that be for a product with this feature? Don’t count on the Set Up Assistant, the script was written by Ramesh in Hyderabad. Quality of the machine and its print is fine, but as with every printer sold by HP, documentation and customer service shows a breathtaking contempt for the consumer. I did not return the printer to Amazon because they are not responsible, and besides, the glowing blue light indicating that the inaccessible wireless feature is ON casts a nice glow in the dark.
An update. Spent an hour with a HP technician. He gave up. This printer’s wireless feature is not compatible with Airport Express. The adhoc “hpsetup” network works, and a direct USB connection with the printer works. Nothing else does.

Easy to set up and use which for me is very important as I don’t have the patience to spend a lot of time reading the instructions.
This is my third HP printer and I’ve been happy with all of them. The quality is excellent and I’ve never had any problems at all with an HP product.

Set up seemed a little over complicated, the easy set up from my router would not work so I had to install via the included usb cable. However I was able to use the included help feature to go back and set up the printer through my wireless network. After the wireless setup was complete, I easily installed a laptop and another desktop using the wireless connection.
Using the included HP Advanced 4 x 6 I was able to print lab photo quality prints from my pictures.
Print speed is more than adequate for my needs.
Only real complaint is the noise. All printers make noise when printing, this one is louder than other printers I’ve owned and there is a lot of extra noise after the printer is completed. I imagine it is cleaning and re-aligning after the job is complete.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.
